NICE - July 2016

So far, so good.

I guess we're settled. At least as settled as we're going to get. July was our introduction to Nice. We now have a sense of the place, though by no means are we locals yet. We have a library card. We have Kyri registered for school (we're still figuring out how to register Rivi since she'll be heading off to College!, which is the equivalent of middle school), we have bus passes and we've already received mail (thank you Alicia). We've walked the city endlessly and have started branching to areas outside the center. Rivi and Kyri are walking at least 5 miles a day plus swimming in the Mediterranean and playing on the playground. And to top it all off, the temperature does not fall below 20C (68F) or go above 30C (86F) and has been sunny every single day, except one.

Here are some random pictures of our first two weeks.

A lot of mosaic around. I particularly like this fish.

There is an amazing park (Promenade du Paillon) 2 minutes from our apartment. Kyri named the above play structure, Logic Playground.

The beach is rocky, which I've decided is a very good thing because it means we can go everyday without a bucket full of sand coming home with us. We do carry home a rock or two.

Comfy in our apartment.

The stairway up to our apartment. It's a workout, but the girls run up it every single time.

Rivi at the beach on her birthday. I can't believe she's 11!

The beach just before a storm (a very minor storm)

And of course, lots and lots of ice cream!
